All those critics out there who had been writing off Wayne Rooney can suck on the the striker's double against Aston Villa. It reminds me of the adage, " Form is temporary, class is permanent". He is a proven goalscorer and in fact, he doesn't need to prove himself. He was even criticized for his performance for England during the last World Cup in South Africa. However, FIFA panelists later said that along with Gerrard, Rooney was the most technically sound players for England in the World Cup.
Even when he is not scoring goals, his work ethic has been amazing and has been making goals for Berbatov and Co. You cannot deny the fact that his work ethic is amazing. The guy is a beast when it comes to running. One moment, you will see him going forward in the box and next moment, he will be defending in his own box. I am confident he will finish at least in double figures this season and probably more than that. Needless to say, he is pivotal for United to win trophies this season and it looks really good so far with the "invincibles" tag likely to be synonymous to the Red Devils at the end of the season.
